MECLIZINE, CYCLIZINE - ORAL

(MECK-lih-zeen, SYE-klih-zeen)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Antivert, Bonine, Dramamine II, Marezine

USES: This medication is used to prevent or treat nausea, vomiting and dizziness caused by motion sickness or middle ear infecitons.

HOW TO USE: For motion sickness, take the first dose 30 miuntes before traveling. For other conditions, take exactly as directed by your doctor. Chewable tablets must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.

SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness, blurred vision, stomach upset, headache or dry mouth. These effetcs should subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your docotr. Since that medication may cause drowsiness, use caution engaging in activiteis requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dotcor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: glaucoma, prostate problems, urinary problems, asthma, any allergies you have. Alcohol may intensify the drowisness effect of that drug. Limit alcohol intake and use caution performing tasks that require alertness such as driving and operating machinery.
