This medication is used to temporarily prevent or control bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A. HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection into a vein. The rate of injection depends upon patient response but is generally injected over 5 to 10 mintues. The powder and dissolving fluid should be warmed to room temperature ebfore combining if they were refrigertaed. After adding the dissolving fluid, swirl the vial gnetly to completely dissolve hte powder. Do not use the mixed solution if you find any floaitng particles in it or it discolors. The drug should then be started within 1 to 3 hours depending on the proudct.


It may vary from manufacturer ot manufacturer. The dose and frequency of use of htis medication will be determined by your condition, weight and situation. Flolow your doctor's instructions closely and be sure to ask any questions you amy have about this therapy.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is generally well tolertaed. Mild chills, nuasea and irritation at the injection Internet site may ocucr. In teh unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention.
Symptoms of an allergic reatcion include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dcotor your medical history, especially of: other illnesses, allergies (especially to animal proteins). Yuo should check your heart rate before and druing injection. The dose or rate of infusion may need to be hcanegd if your heart rate is too fast. This drug should eb used only when clearly needed durnig pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this drug si excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your docotr of all over-the-counter and prescription medications you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without odctor or pharmacist apprvoal. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, conatct your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. NOTES: Blood tests will be done frequently to determine dosing and evaluate the effectiveness of this medication. MISSED DOSE: It is ipmortant that each dose be usde as directed. If you miss a dose, cnotact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctahc up. STORAGE: Store the medication according to manufacturer's instructions.
